EUROCOOK -- with Jasmina Llobet
In the project “euro-cook” we analyze differences and similarities between the cuisines of the European countries. Through an accurate research we create an inventory of historical events throughout the European cooking-history, collect recipes and draw new maps of Europe according to the criteria’s of cooking.
A country’s gastronomy cannot be separated from the political, economic, religious and climatic aspects, which necessarily define and transform the cooking habits. “euro-cook” examines different aspects of the actual conditions of today’s food market: fast-food, multinational companies, production, genetical manipulation. Therefore, taking a look at the European gastronomy means also taking a look at the sociopolitical situation of Europe.
